Dr. Doug Hendrix, DVM
Dr. Doug R Hendrix was born and raised in Alief, Texas and worked for Dr. L.O. Harrell throughout his high school and college career. Dr. Hendrix graduated from Texas A&M University in 1997 and purchased Sugar Land Pet Hospital in 1999 from the Harrell family.
Dr. Hendrix provides a variety of services for small animals, including internal medicine and surgery. At home, Dr. Hendrix and his wife Bridget have two beautiful girls, Emily and Katie, who enjoy dancing, sports, and spending time with their spunky Boston terrier, named Cindy Lou Who.
In his spare time, Dr. Hendrix loves woodworking, fishing, and following Aggie Football WHOOP!

Dr. Desiree Parks, DVM
Dr. Parks was born near Chicago, Illinois and moved several times during her childhood, but she eventually settled in Texas. Dr. Parks has always had a deep appreciation of nature and animals and wanted a career where she could help both people and animals.
She completed her undergraduate degree in Zoology and her master’s degree in Microbiology from Texas Tech University. She attended veterinary school at Colorado State University where she earned her master’s in Public Health and her DVM in 2014. Her interests while in college were infectious disease, pathology, and internal medicine.
Dr. Parks loves to spend time with her husband and their daughter Zoe, working in her garden, painting, and being with her four pups: Tesla, a Staffordshire Terrier mix, Leia, a Border collie mix, and the two Shih-Tzus named Chili Bean and Ozzy. She also has a cat named Sammy the Samuari who, like most cats, rules all the pups.
Tesla has become the clinic mascot, coming to work with Dr. Parks almost every day. Tesla loves to interact with staff and clients alike. Dr. Parks hopes to get her certified as a therapy dog in the future.

Kathaleen Tahilramani, DVM
Dr. Kathaleen Tahilramani grew up in Arlington, Texas. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University in 2014 and returned for veterinary school in 2016. She graduated (virtually) May 6, 2020 and is excited to be officially a part of the Sugar Land Pet Hospital family. She has an interest in animal nutrition, dermatology, and surgery.
Dr. T has always known she wanted to be a veterinarian and has worked in the veterinary field since 2011. She has a cat named Tina, a Chihuahua named Pinky, and a Golden Retriever named Bailey.
Dr. T enjoys cooking and finding new local eateries, but the thing that brings her the most joy is coming to work and taking care of her patients!

Milena Blanes, DVM
Dr. Milena Blanes grew up in São Paulo, Brazil, and she has lived in many different countries, including New Zealand, Germany, and Canada.
She received her veterinary degree from São Paulo State University (UNESP), Botucatu, Brazil in 2005. She then came to the USA, where she completed an externship at Colorado State University, a one-year internship in Florida, and a two-year equine reproduction residency at UC Davis in California in 2010. Afterwards, she moved to Canada and received a master’s degree from the University of Alberta in 2016.
Looking to escape the cold weather, Dr. Blanes settled in Texas, joining the Sugar Land Pet Hospital team as a veterinary technician in 2020. After validating her US veterinary license in May 2022, she began practicing as one of our small animal veterinarians. She is now fully dedicated to small animal practice. She loves client education, soft tissue surgery, endocrinology, and reproduction.
She lives with her husband, Travis, and their three dogs Daisy, Moose, and Candy. She is passionate about travelling, 4x4 off-roading, the outdoors, and horseback riding.
